Zusammenfassung:An abstract of a study by Pohle-Krauza et al describing the habitual dietary intake pattern of a select group of firefighters is presented. Results show that the majority of subjects exceeded recommendations for sodium intake (79%, n = 22) and fell short of those for fiber (89%, n = 25). These indicate that firefighters may have dietary patterns that contribute to increased risk for cardiovascular disease.
