Zusammenfassung: | This study examined the relationship of self-disclosure and negative attributions to marital quality. The sample consisted of 127 married men and 132 married women who answered a questionnaire assessing their reports of negative attributions, self-disclosure, and marital satisfaction, as well as demographic characteristics. A significant relationship was found between self-disclosure and marital satisfaction among both husbands and wives. Consistent with previous research, results showed that spouses with lower levels of negative attributions reported more marital satisfaction. Also, among men, self-disclosure mediated the relationship between attributions and satisfaction. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT] |
