Examination of conditions under which the reduction of the cobaltocenium cation can be used as a standard voltammetric reference process in organic and aqueous solvents

Detailed voltammetric studies on the two reduction processes of cobaltcenium hexafluorophosphate have been undertaken in both aprotic and protic solvents at mercury electrodes and at conventional and microsized platinum, gold and glassy carbon disk electrodes of various radii. The findings of the study are discussed.
