Structural, spectral and nonlinear optical analysis of aquachloro (l-prolinato) copper(II) crystal

A semi organic crystal, aquachloro ( l -prolinato) copper(II) (ACLPC) has been grown by reacting l -proline and copper(II) chloride in equimolar ratio. It crystallizes in monoclinic noncentrosymmetric space group P2 1 with lattice parameters a = 8.1965(14) Å, b = 5.2142(9) Å, c = 9.5206(17) Å, and β...

Zusammenfassung:A semi organic crystal, aquachloro ( l -prolinato) copper(II) (ACLPC) has been grown by reacting l -proline and copper(II) chloride in equimolar ratio. It crystallizes in monoclinic noncentrosymmetric space group P2 1 with lattice parameters a = 8.1965(14) Å, b = 5.2142(9) Å, c = 9.5206(17) Å, and β = 109.411(5)°. The powder X-ray diffraction pattern of ACLPC was recorded and indexed. Elemental analysis has been carried out by energy dispersive spectrometry. The Fourier transform infrared and FT–Raman analysis were used to assign the functional group vibrations. The 1 H and 13 C NMR spectra were recorded to confirm the molecular structure. The optical transmittance region of the crystal is from 280 to 1100 nm. The second harmonic generation efficiency of the crystal was estimated by using Kutrz–Perry powder technique.
