On early Islamic historiography: Abu Isma il al-Azdi and his Futuh al-Sham

Mourad examines the Futuh al-sham attributed to Abu Isma il al-Azdi, in an attempt to establish its authenticity, date and provenance. Several historical sources confirm the authorship of this work and demonstrate that al-Azdi's reporting reflects little religious or regional favoritism.
