Matching-to-sample performance by pigeons trained with visual-duration compound samples

Pigeons were trained on duration matching-to-sample in which each of four combinations of signal type and duration was mapped onto a different choice stimulus. Results showed that birds tended to summate two durations when the same signal was presented twice, but not when two different signals appeared.
