Membrane anchoring of the autoantigen GAD(65) to microvesicles in pancreatic (beta)-cells by palmitoylation in the NH(2)-terminal domain

Using immunogold electron microscopy, it is shown that glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 is localized to the membrane of small vesicles that are identical in size to small synaptic-like microvesicles in pancreatic beta-cells.
