A Read-Aloud for Science in Space

Reading out aloud from a book on astrology enhances students' understanding of space, and facilitates cooperative learning. R. Mike Mullen's 'Lift Off! An Astronaut's Dream' is a storehouse of information related to the space, space exploration, space shuttle, astronauts' training, and other related factors. The read-aloud encourages discussions among students about a career in astronomy. Students are encouraged to look for more information from other sources, and to write essays on the concepts learnt through the read-aloud. Various areas of information provided in Mullen's book are presented.
