Thomas Merton's Bangkok Lecture of December 1968

Weakland reports on the controversial Bangkok lecture from the perspective of post--Vatican Council II monasticism. He opines that Thomas Merton was wrong in his projection that Marxism would become the dominant cultural determinant in the future world but his critique of Marxism could raise many serious challenges to capitalism.
