Zusammenfassung:This research reports the findings of two related studies, one by a professor of library science (Houser) into the pre sence or absence of a research orientation among educators in the field, and the other by a student of Houser's (Schrader), which is a quantitative study of reading lists used by Canadian library science educators in their course work. These studies were an attempt to ascertain the re search orientation of instructors through assigned readings.
