In the fall of 1998, Hollins University undertook a major overhaul of its general education program, which includes new quantitative reasoning program. The new requirements, approved in 2001, allow for foundational work in selected skills areas as needed, and then encourage the melding of skills acquisition within courses designed to introduce students to various perspectives.
