Paya plants prove potent. (research update from annual meeting of the American Institute of Biological Sciences)

New ethnobotanical information about the Paya plants in Honduras are providing leads for developing new drugs. The plants were used by the Paya people for treating dental problems and snakebites. Researchers are testing extracts of the plant to determine their toxicity.
