Zusammenfassung: | The University of Illinois regularly offers a one-semester course in principles of economics which involves roughly 1,000 students each semester. Some sections of this course are taught using television lectures; some are taught live. The instructor on the television tapes regularly teaches certain live sections as well. Thus, it was possible to test the effectiveness of "canned" lectures relative to "live" lectures by the same instructor. In addition, a separate group involving the equivalent of two sections was set up to be taught by programmed learning materials. |
