Zusammenfassung:Two SYNCOM spacecraft have been launched, and a third is planned for a synchronous equatorial orbit in the second quarter of 1961. The results of this experimental program are discussed, and the design improvements incorporated into each successive vehicle, as a result of spaceflight experience, are summarized. Design features of communications satellites now under development are also mentioned.
