Zusammenfassung:Simple probability and simulation-based concepts and results are presented that are relevant to the enhancement of spacecraft reliability for planetary missions. It is shown that the range statistic can play a significant role in the determination of spacecraft design for very long missions. The closeness of simulated and analytical parameters is encouraging with respect to the value of simulations. (AIAA)
