Zusammenfassung:The US must transcend multiculturalism, or the preservation of its constituent cultures, and blend its separate ethnicities into a new national identity. The number of non-white, non-European immigrants to the US is increasing. A multiculturalist policy stresses the differences between these immigrants and the white, European core of US culture. This approach can lead to hatred and discrimination. Instead of maintaining their separateness, non-white immigrants should acculturate, using their unique qualities to transform the core culture into one more inclusive than exclusive.
