Zusammenfassung:The use of plant extracts as natural insecticides is an efficient and ecologically viable alternative for direct use in pest control. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different concentrations of Jatropha curcas resin in the control of larvae of Hypsipyla grandella Zéller. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design (DCA), in a subdivided plot scheme, with 5 treatments, 3 replicates and 10 leaflets of S. macrophylla per experimental unit. The plots consisted of 5 resin concentrations of J. curcas (T1: 0, T2: 10%, T3: 20%, T4: 30% and T5: 40%) and the subplots were composed of 4 evaluation times 6h, 12h, 18h and 24h) during the day. The variables evaluated were foliar disk consumption (CDF), foliar consumption (ICF), survival (SL), mortality (ML), number of leaf holes (NOF) and AL-larval activity (%). Thus, in the concentration of 40% was verified 63% of leaf consumption, 67% of dead larvae and less larval activity below 30%. In this way the concentrations of extract of J. curcas caused significant effects in all the evaluated variables, being that the smaller concentrations were less efficient in the control of larvae. In this sense, it is concluded that the resin of J. curcas, acted as an insecticide in the control of H. grandella larvae and the higher mortality of larvae occurred in the high concentrations of resin of J. curcas.
