Experiments on Impulsively Started Jet Diffusion Flames

The starting vortex of an impulsively generated jet diffusion flame was studied to discover the length and lateral spread of the flame and the height at which the starting vortex burned off completely. The findings may be useful in understanding unsteady combustion phenomena.
