Zusammenfassung: | A recent discovery at the Huntington Library provides evidence of the insufficiency of current editions as well as documenting Rossetti's connections to other poets of his day. The Huntington holds typewritten transcripts of five letters written by Rossetti to the poet John Payne during the early 1870s. Taken together, they show Rossetti offering some illuminating criticism of Payne's work, which, for Rossetti, came to represent a style of Pre-Raphaelit writing to be avoided. |
