Zusammenfassung: | Respect is a term which has been increasingly bandied about within so many different contexts in the late 1990s. The notion of respect is illustrated in the maxim 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' as the independent value of each and every human being is implied in this saying. The belief that humans owe respect to each other as such summarizes some of mankind's most noble moral ideals. The most significant global challenge in terms of ethics will doubtless be the inculcation, practice and promotion of basic respect as the essential moral commitment of all human societies. |
