Zusammenfassung:Methaemoglobinaemia, nephropathy and death occurred in I dog following the oral administration of 2 g./kg. of sodium chlorate. An oral dose of 1 g./kg, resulted in severe methaemoglobinaemia and the death of another dog with pre-existing chronic interstitial nephritis. The presence of chlorate in plasma and both chlorate and blood pigment in urine were confirmatory features of the toxicosis in these and in 3 other dogs which survived doses of 0·5 g./kg. (intravenous), 0·5 g./kg. and 1 g./kg. (oral) respectively.
