Introduction: Critical Racial and Ethnic Studies—Profiling and Reparations

Part of a special issue on racial profiling, reparations, and critical pedagogy. Critical racial and ethnic studies are undertaken in an effort to understand the dynamic processes by which systems of racialization and prejudice are socially and culturally preserved, reinforced, and reproduced. The papers in this symposium address the issues relating to racial profiling, reparations, and pedagogy that have been central to contemporary efforts to interpret and remedy the pluralist systems of exploitation in which the dimensions of oppression are embedded.
