Zusammenfassung: | Copper-naphthenate-treated poles in service were inspected for deterioration, penetration, retention, and serviceability. The study included poles in all hazard zones in the US. Poles installed by 12 different utilities and treated by 8 different treating companies are included in the survey. Both southern pine and Douglas-fir poles and distribution and transmission poles are included in the survey. Only two of the surveyed poles were considered failures, indicating that properly treated copper naphthenate poles are performing satisfactorily. |
