Zusammenfassung:	Wood-fired boiler use in the state of West Virginia was surveyed during the summer of 1997 to update information obtained in an earlier survey. The objective of this study was to provide information about wood residue used for energy (as fuel for wood-fired boilers) and to identify changes in the use of wood by-products for steam generation since 1992. The addition of several engineered wood products firms to the state since 1992 has considerably increased the amount of wood residue being used to generate steam (wood energy).
