Zusammenfassung:Cultural assimilation in Ireland in the late medieval period has parallels in Dublin, Meath, Louth, Kildare in the fourteenth century and Tudor England. The four counties were not peaceful in the first thirty years of the fourteenth century, during which a Sheriff was assassinated and a revolt against the crown arose. The social scene in Louth in this period was similar to those of the local societies in England. This refutes the theory that the English influence on Ireland declined in the fourteenth century.
