Zusammenfassung: | To sensitize practitioners to the application of feminism to family programs, three feminist assumptions are identified: Women are oppressed, the personal is political, and feminists have double consciousness. From these assumptions, principles of feminist practice are derived and the ways in which these principles are operationalized in programs published in Family Relations are identified. We discuss what it means to be a feminist practitioner, the difficulty of translating feminist vision into practice, and the need for a practical literature on feminist family programming. Finally, we encourage family practitioners to reflect on the assumptions underlying their practice. |
