Zusammenfassung: | For an organization to be properly oriented, scientists and technologists need to be blended, on an ongoing basis, with other functional and professional specialists in multidisciplinary teams that are working to address value creation issues. They must begin with strategic analysis and focus on deep, complete, and comprehensive commitment. Since the next individual or group who will work on a product is always the customer, credibility is earned when chief technical officers (CTO) satisfy their customers. For a CTO, building credibility occurs on personal, professional, and organizational levels. Officers must possess both a global technical and commercial perspective, and have the ability to develop and lead a technical organization focused on the application of scientific and engineering knowledge to satisfy customers. Credibility is earned by assuring the chairman that the lab is working on the right projects and doing so in the proper manner. |
