The purpose of this article is to provide guidelines to research executives who wish to play a proactive role in the M&A process - a role that research shows will very likely have a positive impact on shareholder value. These guidelines are based on interviews and focus groups with representatives of over 30 companies in a cross-section of US industry including consumer products, oil & gas, chemicals, pulp & paper, insurance, and electronics. |
