Zusammenfassung: | Denmark's rise to innovation leadership seems more impressive than ever. Danish companies play leadership roles in industries such as enzymatic processes, oil recovery, bio-fuels, and clean-tech. Given the structural disincentives that Denmark presents to entrepreneurial activity, it's interesting that these companies are such leaders. Still, Denmark suffers from a lack of natural resources and must rely on innovation if it hopes to have a healthy economy. The European Innovation Scoreboard 2007 , published in February 2008, indicates that Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, and the UK are the most innovative EU countries and ahead of the US. It's all part of a plan: The Innovation Denmark 2007?2010 plan, which is Denmark's national strategy and action plan for promotion of innovation and dissemination of knowledge. Additionally, the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation, an independent body within the government administration, offers grants in the form of co-funding for high-technology research and innovation initiatives and projects. |
