Ten years after Mount Pinatubo's enormous eruption on Jun 15, 1991, growth has again overtaken destruction. Pinatubo's eruption demonstrated that relatively small investments in pre-eruption monitoring can yield big dividends in scientific insights and life-saving warnings.
