Zusammenfassung: | In this session, participants will be able to do as follows: 1) acknowledge the growing impact that anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (anti-NMDA) receptor encephalitis is having on the practice of child and adolescent psychiatrists; 2) understand how to diagnose anti-NMDA receptor encephalopathy in the child and adolescent psychiatrist population; 3) appreciate the pathogenesis with respect to neuroanatomy and neurobiology in autoimmune encephalitis; and 4) recognize the development of malignant catatonia within this population and understand the safety of short-term treatments, as well as long-term management. |
