Zusammenfassung:Conflict is a constant possibility that degrades performance, making conflict management an important HPT intervention. Most approaches to conflict‐management processes are incomplete. This article proposes a framework of eight goals for conflict‐management programs and practices that involve surfacing conflicts early on, developing conflict‐management competencies, implementing routine conflict‐management processes, dealing with various causes and effects of conflict, and resolving problems of chronic conflict. Needed practices and competencies to achieve each goal are recommended.
