Zusammenfassung: | In the framework of the COFREND working group "Eddy current modeling", a benchmark has been proposed by the Vallourec research center. This case corresponds to the modeling of an industrial online testing of seamless steel pipes by eddy current method with encircling coils. The centering of the steel pipe in the coil is not considered as perfect and a shift is imposed to the pipe. For this benchmark, the Vallourec research center (VRA, Vallourec Research Aulnoye) has compared two solutions with different approaches: the first one is based on semi-analytical methods through the CIVA software developed by the CEA, the second one on finite element method through the software Flux. Results for these two approaches are very similar between them and coherent to experimental data. It proves that these two simulations methods are valid and could be used as a complementary approach. |
