Zusammenfassung: | Extrinsic optical chirality in a form of the asymmetric transmission of circularly polarized light at the oblique light incidence has been observed in three-dimensional opal photonic crystals assembled from monodisperse polymer spheres in the closely packed face-centered-cubic lattice. This effect has been assigned to the translation-rotation symmetry of the lattice. The cross-polarization conversion of the circularly polarized light and the related asymmetry of the transmission of the inverted circularly polarized light have been demonstrated. |
