Zusammenfassung: | The study investigates influences of stenosis severity in an artery segment under the effects of gravitational force. Blood flow along the segment is considered as incompressible Newtonian fluid. An unsteady two-dimensional nonlinear model is taken where the governing Navier-Stokes equations are added with significant gravity term. Marker and Cell (MAC) method based on finite difference approximations is selected to solve the problem, where the governing equations are discretized to staggered grids. Successive-over-relaxation (S.O.R.) method is implied to solve the Poisson equation of pressure. Pressure-velocity corrector is adopted to raise the accuracy of the results obtained. Results are exhibited in graphs, which include the pressure drop, velocity profiles and wall shear stress. |
