Zusammenfassung:A hybrid solid-state/gas laser has been commissioned at the Brookhaven Accelerator Test Facility. A Ti:sapphire MOPA system and multi-stage parametric generator for down-conversion to the mid-IR provide a seed pulse with proper spectral and temporal properties. The seed pulse is subsequently amplified to TW peak power in a CO2 amplifier chain.
