Zusammenfassung: | An array of legislative efforts to disenfranchise African American and other minority voters in this county by the southern and border states started over one hundred years ago. These legislative tactics were continually challenged in courts and the resulting judicial reviews and decisions, though sometimes rendered late, attempted to limit the ability of such discriminatory voting practices. This paper attempts to examine the microaggressions related to current voter ID laws along with various moderns tactics of disenfranchisement, many of which were adopted in 2008 and 2012 presidential elections. |
