Zusammenfassung: | Our society is consuming natural resources at a rate that is well beyond the finite limits of our one planet. In order to achieve a One Planet Future, deep and lasting changes will be required to the social, political and economic systems that govern our lives. In this article we explore how systems change can happen and the role of WWF within this. We consider why our systems have become so detached from the interconnected and interdependent ecology of life. We outline the need for participatory approaches for change that engage and build the capacity of influential actors across systems. Enabling people for change is about tapping into their values through learning, and by creating an infrastructure for them to make the transformation needed for a One Planet Future. We examine WWF's role in enabling systems change through case studies from our work in education, business and finance. |
