Whereas for "adult" autobiography (and still more for the clearly distinct, more objective form of Memoirs), prose is unquestionably the proper medium, poetry may well be better suited to the re-creation, or re-evocation, of that strange, alien and buffling reality, the elusive truth of the child-Self.
