MakroPlan method: A powerful tool for surface evaluation

The measurement principle for the surface examination is the stripe projection technique or three-dimensional light splitting technique. It works as follows. A field of equidistant parallel lines project onto the surface of a sample intersecting the surface contours of the object. The surface topology of the sample causes distortion of the shadow pattern. The projected parallel lines bend in different directions falling onto peaks or valleys.
