Resistance of Vacuum-Arc Nitride-Niobium Coatings Under the Action of Abrasives and Cavitation

We obtain coatings under a nitrogen pressure p = 4 · 10 – 3 –8.65 · 10 –1 Pa in a vacuum chamber for a negative potential on the substrate U = 40–200 V and an arc current strength of 130 A. It is shown that the mean rates of erosion of the coatings under the conditions of cavitation ( V 1 ) and abra...

Zusammenfassung:We obtain coatings under a nitrogen pressure p = 4 · 10 – 3 –8.65 · 10 –1 Pa in a vacuum chamber for a negative potential on the substrate U = 40–200 V and an arc current strength of 130 A. It is shown that the mean rates of erosion of the coatings under the conditions of cavitation ( V 1 ) and abrasive wear ( V 2 ) are minimal for the coatings obtained for fixed p = 6.65 · 10 –1 Pa, and U = – 100 V. We also determined the microhardness of the coatings ( H μ ) and established the relationship between V 1 , V 2 , and H μ .
