Zusammenfassung:Aseptic meningitis is an inflammation of the tissues covering the brain and spinal cord and caused by a virus, most frequently an enterovirus. Here, Waite et al reveals that among the 201 campers, 12 cases of meningitis and 24 other cases of enterovirus-like illness were identified. Enterovirus polymerase chain reaction tests from three of these patients detected enterovirus serotype echovirus 9 in two samples.
