Zusammenfassung:The key events of cell cycle control in type II alveolar epithelial cells (AEC) after hypoxic injury were studied: induction of cyclins and cdks in whole lung, in freshly isolated AEC and in primary cultures of AEC isolated from oxygen-exposed and control rat lungs. Cyclins A and D are induced and p34cdc2 are activated in AEC during the process of repair after hyperoxic lung injury.
