About the cover: Waring’s problems

Alexanderson and Klosinski features British mathematician Edward Waring and his number theory Waring's Problem. It mentioned the cover of his book Meditationes algebraice which states that he is a physician. He also made contributions on the classification of curves, systems of equations, and the study of symmetric functions. It also mentioned that his approach to many problems are more analytical than geometrical.
