Zusammenfassung: | This short communication to the Editor is completely devoted to a recent paper published by Broday et al. (2017) in which a comparative analysis of methods for determining the clothing surface temperature is reported. Contrarily to what our colleagues have found, we will demonstrate that the algorithms reported in ISO 7730 and ASHRAE 55 Standards from more than 30 years are reliable and consistent with other home-made codes based on different numerical techniques.
•The reply to the paper by Broday et al. (2017) is here reported.•The algorithms for solving the heat balance equation for the body clothed surfaces are discussed.•Fixed point iteration suggested by ISO 7730 and ASHRAE 55 is convergent.•ISO 7730 and ASHRAE 55 algorithms' are consistent with codes based on different numerical techniques. |
