Zusammenfassung:In 2012, early literacy became a top priority for the New York State Library and the agency’s work with the state’s regional public library systems and libraries. While many public libraries had long provided storytimes for preschool-aged youth, the State Library determined there was a need and an opportunity for libraries to play a larger, more impactful role in building early learning skills by reaching parents and caregivers in addition to young children.
