Betula pendula Roth (B. verrucosa Ehrh.) and B. pubescens Ehrh

Betula is a genus of some 50 species distributed throughout the northern temperate region, which are pioneers of two broad types of habitat in the British Isles. Morphological variables of the B. pendula and B. pubescens located in the British Isles are discussed.
