ANNOTATED GEOLOGICAL BIBLIOGRAPHY OF NORTHERN PAKISTAN UP TO AD 2002

Publications on the foreland basin molasse sediments of the Salt Range have been included for completing references on the Siwaliks of Pakistan. Dr. Imran A. Khan, DG GSP and Mr. Asif Nazeer Rana, Director of the Geoscience Laboratory of the GSP, provided a large number of GSP publications, Dr. MonaLisa facilitated access to student theses submitted to Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and Mr. A. Wahab, Mrs. Malka Saimeen Ozar, Hafiz Shahid Hussain and Mr. Shahid Waheed of our Centre remained helping hands at various stages. The examined area appears to have some economic potential, as Chromite is believed to be of metallic grade and number of boulders indicate the presence of more Chromite bodies which could not be found out during the short time available for investigation. A generalised summary report describing present status and future prospects of Aluminium, Chromium, Copper, Lead-Zinc, Gold, Silver, Iron, Platinum, Tungsten and Lithium.
