Flying Through 5 Years

Morely recounts the improvements of the Journal of Gerontology: Medical Sciences for the last 5 years as well as highlights some of the previous articles highlighting clinical topics. Over the last 5 years, a number of improvements have been made to the readability of the Journal. This has included editorials that have concentrated on placing the original articles in the context of the developing field of geriatrics. Target articles are introduced, accompanied by commentaries such as those on geriatrics as a chronic hospital specialty to treat or not to treat hypertension in the old-old, the role of insulin resistance in dementia, and the future of longevity.
