Zusammenfassung:New thermobarometric and 40argon (Ar)/39Ar thermochronologic data suggesting that the Eohimalayan event at Dinggye in southern Tibet occurred at PT conditions near the aluminum silicate invariant point that preceded Neohimalayan metamorphism by only a few million years are presented. The results suggest that metamorphic "events" deduced through petrographic study of polymetamorphic assemblages are not always separated by long time intervals.
